Reservation of capacities in Inčukalns Underground Gas Storage for season 2020/201 will start on 17 March

The Public Utilities Commission (PUC) has confirmed the amendments in usage provisions of Inčukalns Underground Gas Storage and it has made a decision on natural gas storage tariffs application procedure presented by “Conexus Baltic Grid” JSC (Conexus) during storage cycle 2020/2021 in the result of which the reservation of Inčukalns Underground Gas Storage products for the new season starts tomorrow on 17 March.

Amendments in usage provisions of Inčukalns Underground Gas Storage (Inčukalns UGS) are required for gradual alteration of regulation of Inčukalns UGS. The amendments specify the usage procedure of product, market participants are familiarized with part of the regulation which is planned to be applied from the beginning of storage cycle 2021/2022, and also other amendments related with the technical operation of storage are confirmed. The regulations are enforced on 13 March, but the tariff values for Inčukalns Underground Gas Storage are enforced on 14 April.

Storage products are available for reservation from Tuesday 17 March so that the traders can timely commence the reservation of storage products for cycle 2020/2021. In accordance with storage regulations, Conexus has published the capacity available for reservation today, one day before the commencement of reservation.

In total, the market participants will be allowed to choose one of the elaborated storage products: market product, grouped capacity product, two-years capacity product and virtual flow product for Inčukalns UGS storage cycle 2020/2021.

PUC has confirmed the following tariff values for Inčukalns UGS storage cycle 2020/2021 (VAT excl.):

1. Minimum value of market product tariff - 0.92000 EUR/MWh;

2. Virtual flow product tariff – 0.32200 EUR/MWh;

3. Maximum value of grouped capacity product – 1.37918 EUR/MWh;

4. Two-years grouped capacity product tariff – 2.84741 EUR/MWh.
