Information for Latvian natural gas market participants
On 23rd of February, 2016, Energy law amendments were announced approved by Parliament, on the opening of gas market and JSC „Latvijas Gāze” dividing conditions. The amendment of the law provides that JSC „Latvijas Gāze” until 3rd of April, 2017, a distinction has to be made between gas transportation and storage of distribution and trading, creating two companies. On 22nd of December, 2016, AS „Latvijas Gāze” on the path of the reorganization, distinguished between natural gas transportation and storage of distribution and trading, creating a single transportation and storage operator JSC „Conexus Baltic Grid”.
Today on 3rd of April, 2017, when Latvia opens natural gas market, JSC „Conexus Baltic Grid” urges natural gas market participants to get more familiar with current information on receiving natural gas transportation and storage services HERE.

JSC „Conexus Baltic Grid” informs you, starting with 3rd of April, 2017, according
to the Cabinet of Ministers 7th of February, 2017, rules No 78 „Natural gas trading and usage rules”, which comes into power on 3rd of April, 2017, JSC „Conexus Baltic Grid”, for accounting of natural gas transportation system and storage facility will use energy units – kilowatt hours (kWh).
According to 16th of March, 2017, PSRC decision No 26 „About 24th of July, 2008, decision No 247 „About joint stock company „Latvijas Gāze” natural gas supply rates” adjustments currently existing services to the natural gas transportation system rates will be adjusted as the fee for transported energy unit, concerting them with the corresponding factor.
